2019 Dublin Marathon in support of the RNLI
Every year, I run the Dublin Marathon in costume. This year, for the first time, I'm running the 42km in a lifeboat to fundraise for the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea.
Last year, the RNLI aided 41,619 people and save 329 lives in Ireland and the UK. RNLI crews are almost entirely made up of volunteers, and the charity relies on donations to provide 24/7 search and rescue service at sea.
I'm currently a probationary crew member of the D Class inshore lifeboat at the Courtown Lifeboat Station, and can attest to the quality, professionalism, and dedication of the volunteer crews.
All marathon entry and costumes costs are covered by me personally, so all donations go directly to the RNLI - please donate here or in person at your local RNLI station.
You can see how the RNLI spends raised funds on their website, and learn how your donation will help save lives at sea.
